Tajweed Ul Quran World Wide

The cheapest Umrah taxi I ever booked cost me three days, because the driver vanished and the company behind him did not exist.

Since then I have asked every company for its licence number before paying. Eleven said they were licensed. Four could send the number. Three had it on their website before I asked, and those three are this list.

I have booked Umrah transport from the US and the UK for six trips, so the test here is not comfort or price. It is whether the company is registered with the Saudi authorities, whether it says so where you can check, and whether it tells you who is driving before you land.

What Safe and Registered Means for an Umrah Taxi

A safe Umrah taxi is one where the company, the vehicle and the driver are all licensed. You should be able to see that before you pay.

Two registrations matter. The Transport General Authority licenses the vehicles and drivers for paid passenger work, and that licence carries passenger insurance. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah licenses pilgrim transport companies and lists them on the Nusuk platform. That listing is what lets a booking support an Umrah visa. A company can hold the first without the second. The three below hold or state both. I checked what each one publishes on 6 October 2026.

Registration is also why the Jeddah Airport to Makkah leg is where this matters most. It is the ride you take tired, at night, with every bag you own, and it is the one that appears on the visa file.

1. Hujjaj Umrah Taxi

Hujjaj Umrah Taxi is the only company of the three that puts its Nusuk registration, its Ministry of Hajj and Umrah licence and its full fare list on the same website. Jeddah Airport to Makkah is SAR 250 in a Camry and SAR 300 in a seven seat Staria. Makkah to Madinah is SAR 450 and SAR 600. The Hiace, GMC Yukon and 17 seat Coaster are priced beside them.

The driver’s name, photo and phone number arrive the day before. The flight is tracked, so a delay moves the pickup. The driver stands inside the arrivals hall with your name, the fare is paid to him at the end in cash or by card, and cancellation is free up to 12 hours before. On my last four trips every one of those happened as written, which is why Hujjaj Umrah Taxi is the best Umrah taxi I have booked and the first name on this list.

It is based in Makkah and covers Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Taif, KAEC and Badr. Ziyarat loops run in both holy cities, and stops at the miqat are free.

2. Umrah Taxi Online

Umrah Taxi Online publishes fixed fares for its main routes and takes no deposit. That alone puts it ahead of almost every company that did not make this list. Jeddah Airport to Makkah is SAR 250 in a Camry, SAR 350 in a Staria and SAR 550 in a GMC Yukon XL. Bookings are made on WhatsApp and paid in cash or by card on arrival. It covers Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Taif and Riyadh with five vehicle classes up to an 18 seat Coaster.

The site states that its drivers are TGA licensed and gives a meeting point at the arrivals exit gate inside Terminal 1. What I could not find on the Umrah Taxi Online site is a Nusuk or Ministry of Hajj and Umrah registration. There is also no promise of the driver’s details before travel. Ask for the licence number on WhatsApp before you confirm. The Google rating of 4.9 from more than 860 reviews is a strong public record.

3. Harmain Taxi

Harmain Taxi states that its vehicles are TGA and Nusuk registered, which is the registration a visa needs. That alone earns the third place. It runs the standard routes between Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah plus Taif, Badr, Riyadh and Dammam, from a Makkah base near Abraj Al Bait. It has the widest fleet of the three, from a Camry to a 24 seat Coaster.

The gap is in what Harmain Taxi does not publish. The site says fixed fares but shows no prices. It gives no payment or deposit terms and names no airport meeting point. Each of those is a WhatsApp question before you can compare it with the two above. Book Harmain Taxi when you need the larger Coaster or the Dammam route. Get the fare, the licence number and the meeting point in one written message first.

How I Ranked the Three

Four checks decided the order, and each one can be done in the two minutes before you send a booking.

  • Registration you can verify, on the site and on the Ministry register, not just the word licensed
  • A fare you can read before you message, per vehicle and per route
  • No money before pickup, and a written total in the confirmation
  • The driver’s name and a meeting point before the flight lands

Hujjaj Umrah Taxi passes all four. Umrah Taxi Online passes the fare and deposit checks and leaves registration to you. Harmain Taxi states the registration and leaves the rest to you. On a Makkah to Medina run those gaps are a phone call. At Jeddah Airport at 2 am they are the whole night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which car is best for a taxi in Saudi Arabia?

A Toyota Camry for up to three passengers with two cases. A Hyundai Staria for a family of four to six, because its low floor and sliding door make it the easiest car for children and grandparents. The GMC Yukon rides best on the long Makkah to Madinah road but takes fewer bags.

What is the best app to book a taxi in Saudi Arabia?

Careem for short rides inside Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah, with Uber as the backup. Neither app is a registered pilgrim transport provider. For the airport transfer and the intercity leg that appear on a visa, book a registered company on WhatsApp or its own app instead.

Which taxi company is the best in Saudi Arabia?

For city rides, the apps. For pilgrim routes, a company on the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah register with published fares. Of the three on this page, Hujjaj Umrah Taxi is the one that shows both. For Dammam and the Eastern Province, Harmain Taxi is the only one of the three that lists the route.

How far in advance should I book a registered Umrah taxi?

Two to four weeks for a normal trip, and four to six weeks for Ramadan or the last ten nights, when registered companies fill their cars first. Booking late does not raise a fixed fare, but it can leave you with only the larger vehicles or no car at the time you need.

Is it safe to book an Umrah taxi on WhatsApp?

Yes, if the number belongs to a registered company. The confirmation should carry the company name, the vehicle, the date, the route and the total fare in one message. Never pay a deposit to a WhatsApp number. Walk away from any quote that changes once the bags are in the car.
